The UK-based investment, fund management and advisory company InfraPartners Management (IPM) has become a new partner of the Slovak hi-tech firm GA Drilling, developing an innovative, electric plasma-based and contactless technology for drilling and milling. IPM’s investment in GA Drilling is the first investment under the IPM Growth initiative dedicated to investments in the leading technology companies with disruptive innovations in Central and Eastern Europe.
IPM Growth aims to become a go-to scale-up investment platform for the leading regional and global investors interested in technological companies with global ambitions spanning beyond Central and Eastern Europe. The intention of IPM Growth is to help GA Drilling establish itself further and continue to develop the potential of its unique patented technology, PLASMABIT for deployment across global markets. GA Drilling company was founded on the assumption that traditional industrial drilling techniques, which resisted innovations for decades, can be significantly reengineered by the latest technological disruptions.
“The investment proves the technological progress and high potential of GA Drilling. It accelerates achieving the next technology readiness level for validation and further prototype demonstration in the oil and gas environment. We are joined by a partner with skills, not only in the financial area for equity and structured debt financing, but also through their stakeholders to the area of new advanced materials, considered necessary to launch PLASMABIT,“ declared Igor Kočiš, co-founder and CEO of GA Drilling.
GA Drilling currently commands its own technology centre in Bratislava with 4000 sq. meters. Besides Slovakia GA Drilling has its branches in the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and the United States of America.
