Purpose of the job:
Act as the senior mechanical engineer for assigned technology programmes, with personal responsibility for experiment configuration, mechanical design and test execution. Work with the senior management team to support best engineering practices and improve company processes.

Your job will be:
- Personal responsibility for experiment configuration, mechanical design and test execution for assigned Technology Programmes
- Use engineering skills and judgment to create designs that meet the requirements of the technology programme
- Designing and modifying equipment in accordance with GA Drilling processes to ensure that it is safe, reliable, and efficient
- Generate quality engineering documentation, including drawings, calculations, procedures, and reports
- Calculations to support the design and material selection (e.g. Stress calculations)
- Use analytical skills to derive potential solutions to engineering problems and engineering judgment to recommend the most suitable option
- Lead design reviews
- Mentoring and developing, Mechanical / Design members of the engineering team
- Collaborate with other business functions, including QHSE, manufacturing, and quality
- Collaborate with external suppliers and project partners
- Contribute to technical risk management
- Agreeing budgets, timescales and specifications with managers
- Support a positive and pro-active HSE culture and ensure that all activities adhere to HSE Policy
- Lead risk assessments and support HAZOPs as required
- To be Innovative, Conceptual & Creative within a New Product Introduction environment.

- Mechanical engineering fundamentals
- Experienced in design of components, manufacturing
- Computer Aided Design
- Knowledge of relevant standards and legislation
- Communication, delegation and teamwork
- Design justification via analysis and calculation- FEA, Stress, and Thermal Calculations would be advantageous
- Industries: Oil & Gas – Energy – Nuclear – Aero Space – Automotive
- INVENTOR – ADVANCED, AUTODESK VAULT, CFD/FEA ADVANCED
- 15+ years of Mechanical Engineering inclusive of Mechanical Design
- Analytical thinking, Mechanical design , Team Leadership, Pragmatic and able to make decisions based on business priorities
- Education – HNC / HND / BSc / MSc
