We have developed a unique high-powered rotating plasma arc, named PLASMABIT® for drilling hard rock.
PLASMABIT ® Drilling
PLASMABIT® technology utilises a high-powered rotating plasma arc to disintegrate any material including hard rock without any physical contact. This has significant advantages compared to conventional deep drilling technologies.
Today deep-drilling is slow and extremely expensive. The cost rises exponentially with each drilled meter because of the physical contact of the drill bit with rock. This causes high mechanical wear. PLASMABIT® technology is able to drill through any substance multiple times faster, reaching its peak performance in hard rocks in great depths.
Our drilling bit has no moving parts, so there is virtually no wear and tear. Its performance is under real-time control from the surface. And most importantly is compatible with existing infrastructure. Compared to conventional methods this technology will deliver a step change in time and cost savings. It is safe to operate and environmentally sound, requiring significantly less consumable materials and lubricants.
The first product for the Oil Industry is going to be brought to the market in 2019.
